As part of our mission to promote greater independence, we provide opportunities for Steppers to use their life skills and enjoy invigorating activities away from Stepping Stones Achievement Center.
- Leisure. Excursions include eating lunch at nearby restaurants, taking field trips to points of interest and shopping at Walmart.
- Volunteering. Nearby care centers welcome our Steppers to participate in arts and crafts projects at their assisted living and nursing facilities.
- Vocational. We also work closely with businesses to coordinate behind-the-scenes vocational training, such as sorting clothing at resale stores, rolling plasticware at dining establishments and caring for horses at horse stables. While the opportunities vary, our objective is steadfast: to get Steppers in the door as an entrée to employment assistance.
