Empowering individuals to succeed through personalized support and meaningful job guidance.

Steppers work hard to polish their life skills and contribute to society as part of our nation’s great workforce, and we nurture their journey through two key areas: employment assistance and supportive employment.

Employment Assistance

Stepping Stones Achievement Center works closely with Steppers to help them build their resumes, identify employment opportunities aligned with their abilities and obtain basic training to enter the workforce.

We’ve fostered strong working relationships with several widely recognized brands that have welcomed us into their stores to learn the benefits of hiring employees with developmental disabilities. Among them are Lowes, Walmart, Kroger, H-E-B, and Walgreens. There, our Steppers have volunteered and simultaneously gained vocational skills by greeting guests, rolling silverware, restocking shelves, and shredding documents.

Many of these volunteer activities lead to employment opportunities. As a result, Steppers realize their ability to earn a paycheck and be contributors in larger communities outside their homes and our facilities.

Employment Assistance: What Sets Us Apart

Have you ever wondered how someone with developmental disabilities can thrive in a workplace? Our approach goes beyond simply offering training. Through our outpatient programs in Texas, we work closely with each Stepper to understand their unique strengths, interests, and goals. This personalized approach ensures they are prepared not only for a job but for a career that they can enjoy and excel in.

We’ve established strong partnerships with well-known brands like Lowes, Walmart, Kroger, H-E-B, and Walgreens, giving Steppers hands-on experience in real-world work environments. Through these partnerships, Steppers gain exposure to various roles, from customer service and inventory management to administrative tasks. By volunteering in these positions, they acquire practical skills that directly translate into employment opportunities.

But what really sets us apart is our focus on life skills development. Employment is about more than just the paycheck; it’s about building independence, confidence, and a sense of purpose. Through structured guidance, coaching, and hands-on experience provided in our outpatient programs in Texas, Steppers learn how to navigate the professional world, interact with colleagues, and handle workplace responsibilities with confidence.
